Salmon are so much more than a life cycle lesson.

Salmon are so much more than a life cycle lesson. 🐟🌿

They connect oceans, rivers, forests, and communities and hold deep cultural importance for many First Nations.

My salmon mini booklet brings these connections into the classroom with student friendly reading, colouring, and activities, including labelling the parts of a salmon.

As a Nuučaan̓ułʔatḥ educator, I love creating resources that help students connect what they learn in science with the land and people around them. 💛

Find the salmon booklet on my website, comment FISH for the link!

I don't think I've ever shared this much of my story. ❤️

I started West Coast Indigenous Teacher on maternity leave. In my basement. With a sleeping baby on my chest.

I wanted something different. Something meaningful. Something my daughters could be proud of.

As a Nuučaan̓ułʔatḥ educator, I saw a need. And I believed I could make a difference.

But it hasn't been easy.

The long nights. The self-doubt. The depression I've struggled with over the past year.

The hateful messages. People questioning whether I was Indigenous enough. Strangers demanding proof of my identity.

There were days I wanted to give up. But I kept coming back to why I started.

My children. My community. My passion for education.

And my story is just one of thousands.

Behind every resource is a real person. A family. A dream. A story you may never hear.

When you purchase a resource, you see a price and a download button. You don't see the life behind it.

And that's what I wish TPT would remember.

My Indigenous worldview is grounded in values like reciprocity. Giving back. Lifting each other up. Sharing success.

I appreciate what TPT has provided. But creators deserve fair compensation. Independence. A voice in decisions that affect their livelihoods.
We are not just percentages on a spreadsheet. We are people.

I didn't build this business to make a corporation successful.

I built it to create a meaningful life for myself and my family.

And every creator deserves that opportunity.

❤️ To my fellow TPT sellers: Your story matters, too. If this resonates, please share it. Tell your story.

Because behind every resource is a human. And we deserve to thrive, too.

It's that time of year...I just love rainy walks.
