One of the biggest things I hear from educators is

One of the biggest things I hear from educators is: "I want to do this well, but I'm worried about getting it wrong."

That care matters. Teaching Indigenous perspectives doesn't require knowing everything, it requires a willingness to keep learning, listen to Indigenous voices and use your role as an educator thoughtfully.

You don't have to wait until you feel like an expert to begin ☺️

Maybe "chic" is just another word for being intent

The little choices matter.

✨ Supporting Indigenous creators.
🌲 Being okay with learning alongside your students.

None of it has to be perfect. It just has to be genuine.

I spent my birthday doing one of my favourite thin

I spent my birthday doing one of my favourite things...being outside. 🌊🐋

I was lucky enough to spend the day on the water and see humpback whales, sea lions, harbour seals, and so much beautiful coastline. Moments like these are the ones that remind you how incredible the natural world really is.

Days like this remind me why I spend so much time encouraging kids to get outside. The natural world is full of wonder if we take the time to notice it. Because the more we know and love the world around us, the more we want to protect it.

Every encounter with nature is a reminder that we are connected to the places and beings around us. Caring for them starts with taking the time to learn, appreciate, and understand.

The Sixties Scoop isn't just a chapter in Canada's past, it has had lasting impacts on Indigenous families and communities that continue today.

This topic is personal to me. My family was affected by the Sixties Scoop, which is one of the reasons I believe it's so important that we continue learning and talking about it.

This carousel offers a simple introduction to what the Sixties Scoop was and why its impacts are still felt today. My hope is that it encourages meaningful learning and helps us better understand this part of Canada's history.
