Celebrate Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day in Canada with this meaningful Indigenous art activity. This interactive poppy craft honours the contributions of Indigenous Veterans and helps students learn about 10 Indigenous Canadian Veterans. Through engaging biographies, a hands-on poppy craft, thoughtful reflection questions, and a bonus activity, students will explore the role of Indigenous Veterans in Remembrance Day Canada and recognize their lasting impact on Indigenous Canada through meaningful Indigenous art.
November 8th is Indigenous Veterans Day, similar to Remembrance Day in Canada but specifically to honour Indigenous Veterans who were denied veteran rights and benefits because they were Indigenous. This Remembrance Day activity is a perfect step towards reconciliation in Canada.
